The Art Galleries Association of Australia (AGAA) is the representative body for Australian commercial art galleries in the primary visual arts market, cultivating excellence, ethics and expertise.
Established in 1976, the AGAA operates as not-for-profit, but of benefit to the wider arts community.
Committed to enhancing the value and appreciation of Australian contemporary art, as well as the reputation and livelihood of artists, the AGAA drives innovation and professional excellence among members, promotes ethical practice, and presents a unified voice on relevant issues.
AGAA membership is by invitation. Only galleries that satisfy the rigorous peer review process, and prove themselves to be of outstanding professional, ethical and financial repute are accepted. Many members are signatories to the Indigenous Code of Conduct.
The Art Galleries Association acknowledges the traditional owners of the lands on which its members operate and pays respect to elders past, present and emerging.
